If you looked at the title thinking you would be reading a blog about Moses and his Exodus from Egypt then I do apologize. The only link this piece has to the opening books of the Bible is that the singer Jon Moses in name, has this unique, mystic and some what Heavenly tone to his voice.
Who is Jon Moses?
If your anything like me, these days my Mobile phone spends very little or if any time away from my finger tips. So it was no surprise when browsing through Twitter I came across the name Jon Moses. With my love of everything musical I took some interest in who Jon Moses was, what type of music he performed and what were his achievements to date.
Quickly my memory was sent spiraling back to ITV’s series “Superstar” featuring Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and his search for Jesus, for a re-run of Jesus Christ Superstar on the West End.
Jon was a finalist on the show and had the pleasure of working with Amanda Holden, Mel C, Jason Donovan and Dawn French while performing to millions of Viewers.
Since performing on the show, Jon has been in high demand touring worldwide, including the London O2 Arena and also performing the role of Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar at Gloucester Cathedral.
Jon’s most recent performance was with Scott Alan in London this New Year’s Eve, where Scott personally requested Jon to perform with him. Having studied voice in the prestigious UK city of Durham for four years, Jon has developed a vocal range and style that spans all genres and is complimented by a long line of theatre credits including Judah in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream coat, Tony in The Boyfriend, Spencer in Boogie Nights, Beast in Beauty and the Beast, to name but a few.
Jon recorded his first album Better Man in 2013, where he went on to take leading roles in several national theatre tours, also working with the internet sensation Miranda Sings at the Leicester Square Theatre West End as well as performing at many other prestigious events and venues including the 02 Arena in London. He is the chosen presenter for national ‘ Pride Awards’ due to his affable nature and stunning delivery of most styles of music.
2017 sees the release of Jon’s new album “Journey” which I have had the pleasure of listening too a number of times. With any new album I have this routine of listening to it via phone with headset on the go, pc with my Sony Headset and then blasted Bluetooth in the Car on school, work and fun runs!
I like to test an albums stamina in challenging environments, and I am pleased to say Journey didn’t fail to deliver.
With well known hits in the play list, the highlights for me were the songs “Because we believe” “Bring me to life” “Go the Distance” and “Run” The Charity song “They Live in you” Live featuring the young people of the Charity Bedazzle added something different to the album.
So in a nut shell, I would recommend getting yourself a copy of this album… it will make for a great Easter present for any of your friends/family who appreciate the more simple sounds in life.
